Why I will no longer Support NaNoWriMo

Some things get better with age, infact most things do. NaNo has not. Infact this year has been the worst. And on this last day of November 2021 I will cut all ties with them. Will one person leaving matter? Absolutely not. Will my yearly donation be missing. Probably not. Will many other get sucked into the hype, probably. Will they soon see that they do not and never did need this. I hope so. Their moderators are rude. They are that one girl in your English class that tries to be the teachers pet. Gets off on their status on a freaking kiddies website. Get over yourself. Telling me I posted a general question in the wrong area, when you are in fact wrong then closing my question so normal people can't talk about it. Seems a little like censorship. This makes it hard for people to even get a foot into the forums. Pesonally I think mods are the same as local government. You're not special, nobody else wanted to do it. They took away cabins. The only thing that made Camp interesting was the luck of the draw being placed in a cabin with others. And you could try several times before camp started to be resorted. Then you could go though and read your cabinmates bios and learn about what they were working on. Now they say make writing groups yourself. We suck too much to make it fun for you. Not to mention the whole "wining" aspect that just went in the toilet. The whole process is now based on you saying you wrote 50,000 words with no proof. Which is utter garbage if you ask me. Personally I think it should become what it is tryng best to be. For kids. I know many schools use it as a writing tool and at that age it might be useful. But for me, I am utterly done. I don't want to hate a non profit, but it's leaning that way.
