Someday My Prince Will Come: True Adventures Of A Wannabe Princess by Jerramy Fine ( Gotham 2008)

Much like most people who find this book, I lived for awhile in  near where Miss Fine grew up in rural Colorado. I don't know her, but I  met her little brother a few times.

I am sorta shocked that someone would admit to being so self centered and delusional. I love England and have a small amount of respect for her ability to get herself there, but in short she comes across as a horrible person who only cares about herself. She is ashamed of her parents, and only dates/ is friends with people who will help her in her social status climbing delusions.

Here is the back story: Jerramy was born to hippies. As a very young child she was obsessed with the royals and claims at that age six she found the one she was to marry: Prince Peter Phillip, Princess Anne's son. She also thinks she was switched at birth and had nothing nice to say about the rough charm of Colorado. I was told that she was sorta a weirdo who wore elegant clothes in a town full of carhart work pants and Patagonia fleece.

I was sent this book by mom who knows that I am somewhat of an Anglophile, not nearly as driven/batty as this broad.  I read and it instantly hated her. I have no allegiance to where she came from, but how ashamed was of her parents annoyed me and that just multiplied as I continued to read about how she went though her life using others trying to get what she wanted.

Sadly, she didn't marry a royal, but she does live in England. She's written a few other books, that I doubt I will read. Unlike my love/hate for Emma Forrest, there is no love here.

This book came up on the British Chick Lit widget I put up on here, and I was like "Ugh. I guess I have to tell everyone how vile this was..."
